Barbara S. Pistone MS, RD, CDN,CDE is a Registered Dietitian and a nutrition expert working at NYP Trude Weishaupt Dialysis in Fresh Meadows NY.
A native New Yorker, Ms. Pistone received her Bachelors’ of Science in Dietetics from The State University College at Oneonta. Her Masters’ degree in Medical Biology and Nutritional Science was granted by C.W.Post Center/ LIU where she also received the Most Outstanding Nutrition Student Award.
At the Northport Veterans’ Administration Medical Center. Ms. Pistone completed her clinical internship and thesis paper and then sat for the Registration Exam For Dietitians.
Ms. Pistone initially specialized in Nutrition Support. She was later certified in Nutrition Support by the American Society for Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition and her research was published in their journal. Her 25+ years of work experience includes Mercy Medical Center, Marriott Corporation, and private practice.
Ms. Pistone worked at the NYHQ Cardiac Health Center where she provided counseling, teaching, public speaking, and healthy cooking classes. In addition she was involved in researching weight loss and cardiovascular disease.
Ms. Pistone is a Certified Diabetes Care Education Specialist (CDCES) since 2011.
Currently Ms. Pistone is working as a Renal Dietitian at an outpatient dialysis, a new specialty for her.
